White Throated Sparrow

I thought at first that this was a female Carolina Wren as I have a lot of them in my yard, but the yellow eye patches didn't jive with what I know about Carolina Wrens, so I went looking. I think this is a white throated sparrow although this part of the country seems to be a bit out of it's normal territory from what I could find.

Well, I instantly thought white-throated when I saw it, but I’m not sure about those yellow spots… let me go check… Yup, white-throated in its white stripe phase. Not sure where you are, so don’t know about range. Very nice pic! Wish I could get bird closeups.

Sharkbytes — I’m in South Carolina and I believe White-throated sparrows are a more northern bird although the accounts I’ve been reading lately say it’s coming further south to winter in recent years. My gain! It’s a lovely little bird!
