We have these in my part of the world as well but I do not think I have ever seen this color. Rather spectacular. Nice photo.
@Lyndi — I’ve seen them in many different colors from scarlet to yellow and solids as well as spotted. One of the center medians here in downtown Greenville, SC has them in a lovely shade of pink which I lust for mightily. The leaves on those are a very deep maroon which makes the blooms all the more striking.
Maybe the wind blew the limbs. Lovely picture!
